Questions and Answers

Which players will be upgraded?

Grace Digital SXBR2, SXBR3, and the BREW players are included in this upgrade (pictured below).

SXBR2

New FW Version: 147.48

SXBR3

New FW Version: 170.93

BREW

New FW Version: 150.74

When will the firmware update take place?

The firmware update is scheduled to roll out to all active players connected to the internet on Tuesday, November 8th, 2022.

How will the firmware update process work?

The player will automatically install the firmware in the background. When the radio is not playing music, the upgrade process will cause the player to reboot, causing your music to stop for 2-3 minutes. Your player will automatically start playing once the update is complete.

Will the update disrupt my current schedule?

Once the firmware update is complete, your player will continue to play its assigned schedule.

What updates do I need to make to my firewall?

Some users on restricted networks will need to whitelist a new URL (see below) that the player uses to get instructions from the scheduling portal. Please do not delete the old Portal URL.

Whitelist this URL: sxbr3api.siriusxm4biz.com

How do I know if I need to update my firewall?

Send this notice to your IT department, and they will determine if your firewall needs to be updated. This update should only affect a very small number of users, most of which are on very tightly controlled corporate networks.

What happens if I do not whitelist the new URL?

The new URL is what the player uses to get instructions from the scheduling portal. If you are on a restricted network and the URL is not whitelisted, the player will lose the ability to receive and play new schedules.

Once the URL is whitelisted, the player will reconnect to the portal and begin playing the assigned schedule.

How do I know if my firmware has been upgraded?

You can check your player firmware level directly from the player on the BR2 and BR3. BREW users can check their firmware version from the SiriusXM Controller App or Web User Interface. The upgraded firmware versions for each player are below:

  • BR2: 147.48
  • BR3: 170.93
  • BREW: 150.74

What do I do if my music stops playing or if my schedule stops updating?

Your player should continue to work without issue after the firmware update. If you run into issues, please follow the troubleshooting steps in the section below.
